Stamps Ministry

Picking fruit from the low hanging branches

Did you know that your cancelled postage stamps are actually worth something? Since 1972, the Alliance Stamp Ministry has contributed more than $924,000 to Publicaciones Alianza, a publishing company based in Argentina that prints Christian books in Spanish with the money received from the sale of these stamps.

Each Tuesday and Friday, 60 Alliance Stamp Ministry volunteers from the Shell Point Retirement Community in Florida donate their time to trim, sort, and bundle used stamps to sell to collectors. These are the cancelled stamps that you provide!

How to donate your stamps

It is important to follow the simple directions below so that the stamps can be used to further this ministry.

You can donate the whole envelope and we will trim out the stamps for you. That is ideal for us, as we can trim them properly to maximize their value. If you would like to trim them yourself, please follow the following instructions:

  1. Carefully trim the stamps. When possible, leave a border of 1/4″ to 1/3″ around the stamp. Keep all corner fringe and borders on the stamp. Please do not remove any stamp from its envelope as buyers will not purchase these stamps
  2. Place the stamps in plastic bags. Please do not use paper clips, rubber bands, or Saran wrap around the stamps
  3. Place the stamps in the basket located in the church lobby.

Please do not send the following stamps:

  • Any metered postage
  • Any stamp that is pre-printed on the envelope
